The most reputable employer among working people is Lietuvos geležinkeliai, among students the top position belongs to Swedbank

In the eyes of the working people the top 3 employers are Lietuvos geležinkeliai, Lidl and Swedbank. Compared to 2018, when Kantar conducted the last similar survey, Lidl has gained the most. Lidl has risen from the 17th position to the 2nd position in the ranking of working people and from the 22nd position to the 9th place in the eyes of students. “The company’s quick expansion in Lithuania has made it also an attractive employer” explains Mari-Liis Eensalu, Kantar’s Baltic Employee Experience Lead.

Among Lithuanian students banks have kept their positions as the most attractive employers. In addition to the leading Swedbank, SEB, Luminor and Danske Bank Global Services are also included in the top 5. According to Eensalu the banks are seen as successful and stable employers, who pay competitive salaries.

In general, working people consider pay and stability as the two most important criteria when choosing an employer. Stability has gained importance compared to the pre-Covid times. As young people, students worry less about stability and look for career and development opportunities instead.

The Lithuanian Employer Image survey was part of a pan-Baltic employer image survey that Kantar conducts in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In Estonia and Latvia state owned companies are also attractive employers. In Estonia, the state-owned energy company Eesti Energia is holding the leading position and in Latvia, the top position belongs to Latvia’s State Forests.

Kantar conducted the employer image survey, where working people and students were asked to rank the largest employers in Lithuania. The survey was conducted in March and April 2021; it included 1015 working people and 492 students studying in business and technical fields. At the same time similar surveys were conducted in Estonia and Latvia.
